The Risk Report Results
The Report will contain a risk assessment of classifying the individual as an employee vs. an independent contractor. When questions are answered by both the company and the contractor, Navigator IC uses the most conservative answer for the analysis based on the jurisdiction. In addition to determining the process for reviewing the reports, you will need to keep the following information in mind.
- What steps will be taken after receiving the risk report? For example, is there a plan for handling high-risk vs. low-risk outcomes? Will the information in the Lowering Your Risk section of the report affect any action items?
- The information in the Report is for informational purposes only, designed to improve your general understanding of the law, and does not constitute legal advice.
- The Report has been designed by, and for, legal professionals, and is intended as a tool for use by attorneys in advising their clients. The Report is intended for use by human resource, procurement, and other corporate personnel only under the direct supervision of company counsel.
